Rustic Wooden 3D Irish flag

Description

The Irish flag wall art is made from solid pine, coloured with green wood stain, orange wood stain and white wood stain and finished with clear varnish.

The back has D rings and rope to hang wherever you want. Screws and wall plugs are supplied, these are for solid concrete or brick walls. For plasterboard walls, please use the appropriate fixings.

As these flags are 5kg, a competent installer should be used.

As wood is a natural product, deviations in grains and knot placements are common, this makes every piece unique.

History

First introduced by Thomas Francis Meagher in 1848, it was not until the Easter Rising of 1916, when it was raised above the General Post Office in Dublin, that the tricolour came to be regarded as the national flag. The flag was adopted in 1919 by the Irish Republic during its war of independence, and subsequently by the Irish Free State (1922–1937), later being given constitutional status under the 1937 Constitution of Ireland.
