Brass Plaque

Description

The British flag wall art is the first of our new 3D wooden flag collection. Made from solid pine, finished with clear varnish and boiled linseed oil.

There is an option to customise with an added solid brass plaque with black painted engraving should you require as a birthday gift, anniversary present etc.

Please leave a message to us at the cart page by clicking 'add note to your order' stating what you would like engraving, we will email you a proof to make sure you are happy, you can change as many times as you like, when you are 100% confident and confirm, we will begin making the plaque.

The back has D rings and rope to hang wherever you want. Screws and wall plugs are supplied, these are for solid concrete or brick walls. For plasterboard walls, please use the appropriate fixings.

As these flags are 5kg, a competent installer should be used.

As wood is a natural product, deviations in grains and knot placements are common, this makes every piece unique.

    History

The national flag of the United Kingdom is the Union Flag, also known as the Union Jack.

The design of the Union Jack dates back to the Act of Union 1801 which united the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Ireland (previously in Personal union) to create the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The flag consists of the red Cross of Saint George (patron saint of England), edged in white, superimposed on the Cross of Saint Patrick (patron saint of Ireland), which are superimposed on the Saltire of Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland). Wales is not represented in the Union Flag by Wales's patron saint, Saint David, because the flag was designed while Wales was part of the Kingdom of England.
